About the project
In October 2023, during the intense "Iron Swords" war, Didea engaged in a significant initiative by designing a logo for an IDF department where my dear friend David serves in the reserves. This endeavor extended beyond merely crafting a visual identity; it played a pivotal role in boosting morale and fostering a sense of unity among the soldiers actively engaged on the front lines in the Gaza Envelope and the Gaza Strip.
Key points
The design process was profoundly influenced by the unit's core values and spirit. The resulting logo symbolizes resilience and camaraderie—traits that epitomize the members of this department. Once finalized, the logo was proudly incorporated into special shirts and unique patches on the uniforms of these soldiers, enhancing their sense of pride and solidarity as they defended our nation.
David, a dedicated reservist and an extraordinarily talented photographer, captured the logo in action across various challenging scenarios. His photographs from the Gaza Strip powerfully illustrate how the logo has become a symbol of pride and a crucial motivational boost for the fighters.
This project exemplifies how thoughtful design can significantly enhance the spirit and bonds within a community, even under the most challenging circumstances.
